Social science is, in its broadest sense, the study of society and the manner in which people behave and influence the world around us.
Put simply, the social sciences are important because they create better institutions and systems that affect people’s lives every day. Thus, social sciences help people understand how to interact with the social world—how to influence policy, develop networks, increase government accountability, and promote democracy.

Sociology is the mother of all social sciences. Because briefly sociology covers the whole aspects of human social life, while the rest of social sciences confined only to a single aspect of human life.
Education is one of the most important social sciences, exploring how people learn and develop. Social anthropology is the study of how human societies and social structures are organised and understood.
Real-World Understanding Studying social sciences gives students an understanding of the real world around them. Students learn about places, cultures, and events around the world, what conspired to make them the way they are, and can make inferences about how the rest of the world works.
The most important branches of Social Science are Anthropology, Economics, Politics, Psychology, Sociology, History, Law, Linguistics, Archaeology and Geography.
The philosophy of social science is consequently a metatheoretical endeavour— a theory about theories of social life. To achieve their end, philosophers of social science investigate both the practice of the social sciences and the nature of the entities that the social sciences study—namely, human beings themselves.
Social sense is the lubricant that helps us rub shoulders with other people without friction. It is useful in every phase of living, from the contacts of everyday affairs to the highest service to humanity. Social sense is one of the protective devices to keep us from breaking through the thin veneer.
The main difference between social science and social studies is in their intended purposes. The social sciences are branches of study that analyze society and the social interactions of people within a society. Social studies is the integrated study of the social sciences and humanities to promote effective citizenry.
