It is important because its study helps us to gain knowledge of the society we live in. Generally, Social Science focus on the relationships among individuals in society. It is the mixture of many subjects like History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, Sociology, Social Psychology and many more.
The word is now spreading that the social sciences are incapable of making so-called point predictions – predictions about individual cases. Point predictions, however, are likely to be the only predictions that those in politics could be interested in.
In sociological writing the term “prediction” means a stated expectation about a given aspect of social behavior that may be verified by subsequent observation.
Social psychology studies human behavior and attempts to apply the knowledge gained to explain the patterns of our behavior. I agree with other Educators here: the study of social sciences can help us predict the behavior of humans in general, but it may not be helpful on an individual basis.

If the predictions are not supported, the hypothesis is falsified. Either way, the scientist has increased knowledge of the process being studied.
Can we predict human Behaviour?
“ Researchers cannot make predictions about human behavior in the same way a physicist can make predictions in a lab. But, in theory, if scientists had all the information about the nature and nurture motivations, we could predict behavior with accuracy.” Dr.
